Dear Mining Stakeholder,

Thank you for joining Intelligence Transfer Centre for the Mining Rights Compliance and Reporting conference in August 2009 at Gallagher Estate.

Over 130 mining stakeholders attended the 2 day conference to meet with the DME during a full-day workshop chaired by Jacinto Rocha and attended and facilitated by 13 DME officials. This was the platform to meet the DME face to face and get clarity on the way forward for complying with the MPRDA.

Mr. Rocha mentioned that they are there to assist mining companies but for the DME to help mining companies they will first need to know the problem… He also said that if mining companies are truly transforming why stay at the prescribed percentages as stipulated by the Act, why not move beyond that?
