Substance abuse has a massive impact on users, their families and communities, resulting in a number of social, psychological and economic ills. With South Africa’s high crime statistics, the linkages between (violent) crime and gender-based violence (GBV) on one hand and substance abuse on the other, should not be underestimated.
ITC has recognised the dire need to host this conference focusing on the obligation to take action and make a change on challenges surrounding Gender Based Violence, Substance Abuse and Mental Health.
